Paint Stripping for Wood Furniture and Cabinets, Without Chemical Strippers

Chemical strippers smell, soak into wood and leave a mess. Sanding fills your garage with dust and can flatten detail. Jared's Surface Prep uses laser cleaning to lift paint off wood so the grain and detail underneath are still there when we are done. It is a good fit for furniture, doors, trim and cabinet doors.

What we strip

  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors and frames
  • Dressers, tables, chairs and antiques
  • Doors, trim, moldings and mantels
  • Carved or detailed pieces where sanding would damage the shape
  • Painted wood you want to refinish, stain or repaint

Why laser paint stripping for wood

  • No chemical stripper — no fumes or harsh smell in your home.
  • Less sanding — protects carved edges and fine detail.
  • Less mess — no sludge and no cloud of sanding dust.
  • Selective — remove one layer of paint or all of it.

Honest limits

Wood is more sensitive than metal, so results depend on the species, the paint and how many layers there are. We test a small hidden spot before quoting and tell you what to expect. Some pieces, like very thin veneer, may be better handled another way, and we will tell you.

Painted before 1978?

Older furniture and trim can have lead paint. Tell us how old the piece is so we can decide whether we can handle it safely. We may decline service when lead risk cannot be managed.

How it works

  1. Send a photo of the piece or cabinet doors.
  2. We test a hidden area and give you a quote.
  3. You drop off the pieces, or we come to you.
  4. We strip them and return them ready to sand lightly, stain or paint.
